Update on Myrtle
Myrtle the Wirehaired Vizsla has been with me for five weeks now. When a dog comes into residence, I always begin by training on the lead, sometimes for several weeks. This builds a bond and teaches focus. After four weeks lead work with me, Myrtle was ready to come out to my fields and be part of my 1-2-1 training with clients. She can now sit and observe and go out to retrieve without engaging with other dogs.
Myrtle has had structure, boundaries and limitations. While she has been residing with me, she has not been allowed to do her own thing. As a result, she is becoming a well-behaved and well-mannered dog who is a pleasure to spend time with.
