Testimonial – Gundog Training Caden the Cocker Spaniel.

I have owned Caden for just two years, since he was an eight week old pup. Whilst his training started at a young age and he has shown great promise as a working dog I just never quite seemed happy with his progress. We seemed to have plateaued and whilst we were not going backwards we didn’t seem to be going forwards. Having a young springer who is a rescue dog and is also training as a gun dog definitely added to the problem.

When training we seemed to be in a constant competition for which dog could run in first and get to the retrieve before the other. It was definitely time for a new approach to our training and a new set of eyes on both dogs, our current training regime just wasn’t working.

I contacted Damian after seeing his website and was initially attracted due to his experience with all dogs not just gun dogs. Having initially chatted to Damian on the phone about both dogs and our progress we booked a one to one lesson. We had our one to one lesson whereby we all got a lot of praise but also a fair amount of constructive criticism. This was exactly what was needed and I went away happy that we had a clear picture as to what was causing the issues we had been experiencing. it was fair to say that the main issue wasn’t with the dogs it was with me and Damian made that clear. We were sent away with a clear and concise picture of what was needed from the 3 of us and what we needed to work on.

I had a follow up lesson 3 weeks later and was astounded by Cadens performance and what a different dog he was, no running in and his attentiveness towards me was on another level. Only 4 week since that first lesson I can take both dogs out and train with them both, with each waiting their turn to retrieve and feeling like I am controlling them not the other way round.

Were looking forward to more training with Damian and would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone whether you just want a well trained pet or a working dog.
