Tessleymoor Gundogs Young Handler Wins ‘Up & Over’ Gundog Scurry.

It’s a huge congratulations to 9 year old Sophie and Moss the Cocker Spaniel for coming 1st in the ‘Up & Over’ Gundog Scurry at the Lancashire Scorton fair.

It’s so rewarding to be able to train young handlers and see the enjoyment in their faces when working with their dogs. You may have read previous blog posts about Moss trained by Sophie’s dad Scott, although when Sophie comes training, she certainly show’s him how it’s done.

We need to remember that if we don’t encourage the next generation to take up rural pursuits who will continue in what is a rewarding and enjoying sport. Recently Sophie started clay shooting and have now purchased a .410. Her first outing certainly got Scott worried about how good she is, maybe she’ll give her dad some pointer on knocking them bird down.
