Travelling For The Right Dog Trainer

I was first contacted by Phil in April 2013. He owned a one year old Springer Spaniel called Hazel that was running off. After trying various trainers and clubs in Lincolnshire where he lives, he contacted me via Twitter. Despite the 170 mile distance, he was prepared to travel for the right dog trainer and visited regularly for lessons with Hazel. The transformation was amazing from a totally headstrong dog to what is now described as one of the best dogs on his shoot.

Phil now has Pecan, an 11 month old Springer Spaniel and Saffy an 11 week Cocker Spaniel. I’ve spoken to Phil about Pecan, however he hadn’t visited for a lesson. Knowing where he’d gone wrong in the past and seeing mistakes creeping in with Pecan he arranged a visit. Phil needed reminding about The Tessleymoor Way. Getting those all important foundations in with both dogs is essential to building the bond necessary to work your dog.

Travelling a distance he decided to enjoy some Lancashire hospitality. I booked him in at the The Priory at Scorton. I’ve use this hotel for clients who travel as it’s totally dog friendly with dogs allowed in the bar and rooms. I look forward to seeing Phil and his dogs frequently over the coming months.
