Residential Gundog Training with Busby the Springer Spaniel

Busby is a lively 2 year old Springer Spaniel who lives with his sibling sister.  Both dogs were purchased to work on a small family shoot where there are a small number of guns and beaters.  Unfortunately Busby experienced his first shooting season last year at a very young age with him being the only beating and picking up dog.  Now for anyone experienced on a shoot it won’t sunrise you when you hear that he’s become a working machine with no brakes.  He’s also had a tendency to chase game some distance.

Busby’s training was limited at an early age and like any working spaniel his working drive is strong.  Busby’s attending my kennels for some serious Residential Gundog Training and over the last few weeks I’ve been working on basics as he was even stubborn to the sit command.  As he’s got the passion and drive to work in the field, with structured gundog training he’ll become a great working companion.  In the meantime his training is all about laying the correct foundations, correcting the many mistakes and ensuring that one day he’ll be out helping on the family shoot doing his job with pride and structure.
