A Little Pickle

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed having Pickle the Cocker Spaniel in residence. While I don’t often take short stays on my residential dog training programme, I make an exception for clients who’s dogs have trained extensively with me. In these cases, having the dog for a week or so enables me to support the client in their training, rather than letting training slipping back while the dog is with family or friends. For new clients, I create a residential dog training programme for each individual dog and this takes several weeks to implement and for results to show.

Pickle is small but mighty. I have worked with her from December 2017 when she was just 12 weeks old. What she lacks in size (she’s frequently mistaken for a puppy), she certainly makes up for in drive. She is a phenomenal dog. She worked for me on my charity day and helped out in 1-2-1 lessons, demonstrating how it’s done.

Pickle is a great example of a dog who has consistent training; advised by a professional and then implemented by her handlers. Whilst Pickle is very much loved by her owners, she also receives discipline and structure. She’s a great example of how a Cocker Spaniel should be.
