Re-homing Tilly my Working Cocker Spaniel.
In November 2012 I took on a 8 month old Black and Tan Cocker Spaniel named Tilly. I have previously posted blogs about Tilly and the progress that she has made over the past 14 months. When Tilly arrived with myself, she certainly was a ‘wild child’ however today I re-homed Tilly as a fully trained working Cocker Spaniel. When I offered to take Tilly from her previous owner, it was never my intention to keep her as part of my pack but rather to rehabilitate and train her to display her full potential as a successful working dog.
During the handover today, Tilly successfully demonstrated to her new owners what she had been trained to do. Her new owner, Stuart was happy with his new working companion and was keen to continue training with Tilly in order to maintain her standard and capabilities. When re-homing Tilly I ensured that she would be used as a working companion as she is a head strong dog that requires the mental stimulation of a working dog and would not make a suitable house dog. Stuart is a keen shooting man and has ensured me that Tilly will be worked and will therefore fulfil her life as a working dog.
