A New Start for an Irish Red Setter

dog training irish red setter

Dylan is 2 year old and has already had a change of owner. In his original home, this Irish Red Setter was not giving the time needed when owning such an active HPR dog. As a result, Dylan had become head strong and unruly, pulling on the lead and with poor recall.

That’s when Samantha stepped in. Dylan was owned by another family member but she has now taken on responsibility for this beautiful but demanding dog. With a young daughter herself, she wants Dylan to become a well-behaved family dog.

After two lessons, Samantha is very happy with her dog’s progress. Dylan was well looked after in his previous home and has good health and a nice temperament. However, an Irish Red Setter needs mental and physical stimulation to achieve their full potential. This breed will always range and so a strong bond needs to be established where Dylan will listen to his owner and choose to come back to her from a distance.
