International Dog Training With Vinny in Australia
My virtual service has turned into international dog training for a former client who has returned to her native Australia. Vinny, her Hungarian Vizsla, previously trained with me when they were living in the UK. He first came to me because he was running off, chasing and had some aggressive tendencies. All of these behaviours were down to a lack of discipline and structure. We made great progress with Vinny during his one-to-one lessons and he became a well-behaved dog.
Vinny has obviously been through some transitions as his owner has relocated. He has gone from being in a cottage with her to living in a shared house. The first accommodation they lived in had a Rottweiler already in the house who dominated Vinny. The current accommodation has a flatmate who allows Vinny on the furniture. Once again there is a lack of discipline and structure. As a result, Vinny is becoming reactive again towards other dogs and people. He is defiant and controlling towards his owner, who can’t get him into his crate until his bedtime. You can move a dog to the other side of the world but the issues remain the same.
What is needed is some international dog training via Zoom. We have established a new structure and daily routine for Vinny. His owner is not currently working but as is the case with the current lockdown, we need to keep the structure in our dogs’ lives for when we return to work. Vinny’s behaviour emanates from what is happening inside the home. When he has a return to boundaries inside, his behaviour will improve outside.
I have further virtual training booked in with Vinny and am looking forward to hearing about his progress.
