Gundog Training with Tess the 16 month old Springer Spaniel.

Tess is a 16 month old Springer Spaniel who is owned by John. As she is a working Springer Spaniel, her drive to work is strong and this was noticeable at her first gundog training lesson. John was having serious problems with lead control, however after only a short time I was able to correct this and pass Tess over to John who was then able to work with Tess and walk her to heel confidently.

After the initial heel work training I then took Tess into the fields to assess her potential and to determine what further training would be required in order for her to become a successful and competent working dog. John is keen to mentally stimulate Tess and has certainly learnt a valuable lesson with regards to having a non trained, strong working dog. It is very rewarding to work with people who are passionate about training their dogs and who have an understanding of where they have gone wrong. It is not uncommon for these handlers to become extremely successful in training as they are prepared to work hard to ensure a happy, obedient dog.

Since our gundog training lesson, John has text me on numerous occasions showing his appreciation for the advise that he received and the assistance whilst out training. The first text which I received from John, I found quite amusing as he stated ” Awesome that Damian, next time I will bring the San Miguel”.
