Gundog Training with Bella the Labrador and my Springer Spaniels.

Over the last few weeks Bella, a 7 months old Labrador, has been accompanied by my Springer Spaniels Wisp (11 months old) and Pepper (20 months old) during Gundog Training.

Bella is coming on well with her Gundog Training and over the last few lessons I’ve advanced her training programme. At present she sits steady to thrown dummies, commands to stop and recall whistles, works on distance commands with direction and delivers perfectly to hand.

Bella and Jason, her owner, attend the Tessleymoor Gundog Club group Gundog Training which allows her to train around other dogs and to see thrown dummies. However, as with many owners, weekday dog training can become a solitude experience.  With that in mind, I ensure that when I’m out training with Jason and Bella that I replicate the Gundog Training group experience by including my own dogs in the training sessions who work well with steadiness.

Bella is still a young dog that will make mistakes. However, we always ensure that Gundog Training is fun which Bella confirms through her behaviours when working with Jason.
