Gundog Training Progress of Ozzy the Labrador

Ozzy and Ben attended their second gundog training lesson today, travelling from Yorkshire. Whilst Ozzy is a working Labrador Ben has no intention of working him. Ben just wants to ensure that Ozzy has a fulfilled life and by training him to his breed ability as a gundog he knows and can see how happy Ozzy is.

I have many gundog clients who don’t shoot or even compete in the field. As with any breed of working dog if not stimulated mentally as well as physically they will become a problem dog.

It was great to see Ozzy and how he’s progressed, with some tweaking and smoothing out a few rough edges I was able to correct delivery and add additional training techniques to work on over the coming weeks.

I’ll be excited to see how he’s progressed at our next lesson.
