Gundog Training and Residential Gundog Training assessment with Art the Irish Red Setter, Preston, Lancashire.

Art is a 6 months Irish Red Setter owned by Barry and Jill.

Barry and Jill’s have owned Setters before and they’re last one was sent off to be trained to a high standard, so it’s important that Art is trained to a similar level, to create a  well behaved dog.  Like many owners buying a dog is a huge commitment and one that needs to be planned.

Barry and Jill’s initial enquiry was for residential training but with all my clients I insist on meeting the dog and owners first.  This allows me to discuss what are they’re expectations and aspirations to the level of training required.  More importantly that the dog is a happy one that will respond to training.  Art is a fantastic dog and within minutes he’d connected with me, something Barry commented on immediately.  This put them at ease especially with the thought of residential training being with there boy for weeks.  After an hours gundog training lesson it was decided that Art would attend residential gundog training where I’d work on ensuring he’s a well balanced and obedient dog.

I’m looking forward to working with Art and posting stories and pictures of his training.
