A great lesson for Ozzy the Labrador on his first game retrieves.

Ozzy and Benn have come a long way from the first time I met them. Dedication, commitment and a determination to take Ozzy in the shooting field as a well behaved gundog has got Benn to where he is today. Today’s lesson was all about introducing Ozzy to game, whilst we’ve used rabbit skin dummies and winged dummies we needed to move him to the real thing. You may ask why so late in his training, but he’s had a real problem with play mouthing on the delivery so it was important I ensured we ticked all the boxes methodically and slowly to achieve the result we wanted.

Benn couldn’t have been happier, despite a little hesitation Ozzy retrieved and delivered the birds nicely to hand.

Well done Benn, it’s a real pleasure to train with you both.
