Interview with Farmers Guardian

Farmers Guardian Article

Back in November I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by Farmers Guardian to discuss my journey as a first generation farmer at the age of 50 and how my World Record Border Collie Skye is progressing.

Following my farming dream with no experience, equipment or land to start with wasn’t easy. My journey over the last 19 months has been a learning curve, but one I have thoroughly enjoyed.

The article covers many points and how becoming an older generation farmer is a huge learning curve.

Since becoming a farmer I’ve established great friendships through social media within the farming community. Many of them have become good friends, assisting me with help and advice.

Farming at my age isn’t easy, there’s a lot of support in the industry for young farmers, but I question what support is there for farmers like me. Maybe that’s something I will be working on in 2023.

I hope you enjoy reading my article in the magazine. You can also read a snippet of the article on line Farmers Guardian Article
