17th August Tessleymoor Gundog Club group Gundog Training, Preston, Lancashire.

It was another great turn out for the Gundog Club today and the weather certainly helped.

John and Max the Labrador who are new to the club showed what they’d learn on 1-2-1 lessons with myself.  Max certainly did John proud and the group also agreed.

We started off with steadiness and general obedience which was a little wild but after all the excitement the dogs settled and we worked on retrieves, stop whistle, distance control handling and blind retrieves.

As a last exercise we took some of the more advanced dogs and using the dummy launcher worked the dogs up on distance retrieves that had been fired deep in the rough terrain.

I look forward to 2 weeks where I hope to see all the practise and push dogs and handlers to the next level.
