Gundog Training Max and Gunner the Working Labradors.
Today I met with John and Juliette, a father and daughter duo, alongside their young working Labradors: Max and Gunner. This was their 3rd Gundog Training Lesson with me.
When I first met these sibling boys it was very clear that Gunner was a little more advanced in his basic training due to Juliette’s previous experience of owning and training her dogs. On the other hand, it was equally clear that Max was ruling the roost with John resulting in excessive lead pulling and running off. Whilst the initial enquiry was to train both dogs to a working standard, it became evident that time would need to be invested in ensuring that the basic field skills were mastered first.
Both dogs are progressing well and I am enjoying training both owners and their dogs. John has a longer journey ahead of him with Max, but his dedication and commitment is clearly 100%.
