Gundog Training with Nell my Springer Spaniel, Preston, Lancashire.

Training clients and their gundogs to achieve great results is a very rewarding experience for me.  The passion and dedication that I invest in my client work emerges from my commitment to enable every dog I work with to realise their full potential. I love to see my own gundogs develop and grow in their skills and experiences as they respond to my specialist training methods and the range of learning opportunities that I offer them. During a 1-2-1 gundog lesson today one of my own dogs, Nell: a Springer Spaniel, demonstrated so beautifully how that passion and dedication can transform a dog’s life.

You may recall that when I acquired Nell, back in May 2013, she had been battered and was in a very sorry state. She would soil herself and was fearful of anyone and anything around her. With a lot of love and dedication to a consistent training programme Nell is becoming a beautiful working companion. Today she travelled without sickness, which is a massive bonus, but more importantly she assisted me in a gundog training lesson without fear, anxiety or nervousness. Her connection with me today was one of wholeness.

There are many things in life that can make us smile, but experiencing Nell’s connection with me today and watching her demonstrate what can be achieved with the right training approach has made my day. I can’t wait to see Nell at my side in the 2014 shooting field doing what she was bred to do.
