2019 Reflections

2020 gundog training goals

We are heading towards the end of another year (and another decade). At these times, it’s always good to reflect and take stock on what’s been achieved in 2019. This year I’ve seen some amazing results with many of my clients. It’s a fact that with most things in life, the effort put in has a direct result on what is achieved. This year has been no exception when it comes to dog training.

When the owners and handlers have been committed to their dog training, great things can be achieved. Highlights of the year have been seeing:

  • puppies growing into well behaved young dogs
  • rescue dogs settling into new homes and become trusted members of these families
  • young handlers working hard to build a bond with their first dog and the joy that brings as the dog responds
  • handlers taking their working dogs out on a successful first shoot
  • out of control older dogs responding to the training they should have had years ago and finally become the dog the owner wanted them to be.

The Christmas holidays are a time when most people are able to take a break. Enjoy the extra time with your dog, don’t let your training regime slip and take this opportunity to exercise your dog well. Head into 2020 as a confident dog owner with a well behaved and happy dog.

Heading into 2020

As always I have big plans for the new year. I’ll be keeping you updated with everything that is happening here at Tessleymoor. Through my regular blogs, I’m looking forward to recognising the achievements of individual dogs and their owners. Hopefully this is another little incentive for you to work hard at your training in the coming months. If you have friends and family who are thinking of adding a dog to their lives in 2020, do recommend my services to them – starting with picking the right puppy of course.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all my clients for their support during 2019. I’m looking forward to working with many of you in the year to come.
