Fantastic drive in a working Labrador

residential gundog training labrador

Buck is a very enthusiastic young Labrador that I would love to have in my kennels. After an initial 1-2-1 gundog training assessment Buck was booked in for residential training to fast track his training program.

Buck has completed his residential training and yesterday I met Steph and Buck for a follow up lesson. As with any training it’s important to ensure that we instil repetition with the basic commands, which is something many clients will neglect. Training any dog is like building a house, if you lay good solid foundations then you know you house will be standing for a long time. Same applies to our dogs, foundation training is key to success.

Todays lesson was great, Buck is steady and Steph has worked hard on their training. Bucks enthusiasm to work is reflected in his constant shaking whilst waiting to retrieve. The great thing we have now is control of his enthusiastic approach.

I’m looking forward to our next lesson, maybe I could just hide him in my Landrover and take him home.
