Gundog Training a Flatcoat Retriever on directional retrieves.

Luke is a 15 month old Flatcoat Retriever who has recently been in for residential gundog training with his brother Finn.  Finn is 6 years old and and enjoys his quality of life.  He is a fun loving, playful, Flatcoat Retriever, whilst Luke is expected to be the mature working dog who will hopefully be out working in the 2013 shooting season.

Many people will have read previous posts about Luke and his ongoing progress.  His recent stay has provided an opportunity to work on his directional work as well as steadiness.  Much of Luke’s training only takes place in short intervals as he bores quickly with repetition.  Seen here in this video is Luke with his owner, building skill and confidence in retrieval work which is an area of training that Luke will continually try to push boundaries.
