Residential Gundog Training with Ziggy the Springer Spaniel

Meet 8 month old Ziggy the Springer Spaniel who’s currently residing with me for residential gundog training. Ziggy’s breeding is one that many gundog owners would love to have in their kennels. Being well breed with what we call ‘a sea of reds in his pedigree’ means his working drive and focus is strong. Unfortunately Ziggy will never be worked but to help with his behaviour we are training as a working dog to channel his energy.

Training with Ziggy and his owners on a 1-2-1 basis has shown what Ziggy is capable of but as he’s maturing Ziggy is becoming more difficult with his recall and lead work so it was decided a residential programme would be beneficial.

Ziggy has now been with me for 1 week and whilst he’s showing progress it’s a slow process.
